Abbie’s Graduation
Visiting Kansas, for my niece Abbie’s graduation. This was a great trip! Kansas was warm, even hot. The metal stadium seats were aluminum and comfortable enough as we watched the event unfold below us.

SF 2010, Part 4
Part 4 of my pictures from my San Francisco trip in January 2010. On Friday I departed from the Bay Area via AmTrak’s California Zephyr train. Originally intended to go from Emeryville, CA to Chicago, the Zephyr’s journey was cut short due to severe winter storms. Instead, the train only went as far as Denver.…

SF 2010, Part 3
Part 3 of my pictures from my San Francisco trip in January 2010. On Monday I hung out on Haight Street and rested, and on Tuesday I toured Alcatraz with April and Jody.

SF 2010, Part 2
Part 2 of my pictures from my San Francisco trip in January 2010. On Sunday, I travelled around downtown with King: we went on a walking tour of Victorian buildings, climbed inside a World War II submarine, and so on.

SF 2010, Part 1
Part 1 of my pictures from my San Francisco trip in January 2010. After riding the early morning (3 am) shuttle from Chattanooga and flying from Atlanta to SFO, I sacked out for a long, long sleep on Friday, followed by more rest on Saturday and going along with King for a few errands. Also,…

SF 2009: 37-Corbett
When I’m visiting the Bay Area, I find their public transportation system to be very, very useful. San Francisco is an easy city to get around in, without a car. What’s it like, you wonder, to ride a MUNI bus, in January of 2009? Well, now, have yourself a look, as I ride back to…

SF 2009, Part B
More 2009 pictures (Set B) from my San Francisco trip. And there’s still more to come!

SF 2009, Part A
Yes, I’m in San Francisco for my annual trip to the West Coast. Check out my Pictures page for SF pix. Also, to review the previous trips, look in my blog archives for January (from 2000 to 2009). Y’know, at this point I’ve “lived” in San Francisco for over two months. Good times.

Cinn-cin-ati
Made it to Cinncinati — where it’s 10 degrees outside. Big change from California, where it felt like it was 50 – 70 every day. Next flight looks to be on time. Soon I’ll be home!

Leaving the Friskies
Well, the time has come to leave San Francisco and wing my way home to Chattanooga. Now sitting in the SFO airport, waiting for my delayed flight to board. Hope y’all have enjoyed my updates and pictures — I’ll add some more stories once I get home.

SF 2008: moving in lapsed time
I’ve been taking some timelapse movies and other videos with my new Canon 870IS (in addition to photos, of course).

SF 2008, Part 4
Fourth set of pictures have been posted. On Wednesday, I rested at the house and read more about the history of Tennessee. Later that night, King and I journeyed out to the University of California at San Francisco (UCSF), Mission Bay campus, which is evidently all the way over to the other side of town.…

SF 2008, Part 3
Third set of pictures have been posted. On Sunday, King and Gwen took me to lunch at Joanna’s Diner in San Mateo, and then we parked the car at Fort Mason, overlooking the Bay and downtown, and walked down to Fisherman’s Wharf, where we caught a boat for a Bay Cruise. The weather was perfect…

SF 2008, Part 2
Second set of pictures from San Francisco have been posted. On Saturday, after catching up on my rest, I travelled with King all the way to the local Post Office, walking nearly a block. After a few moments rest inside the po-po as King transacted with the better clerk for conveying his DVD package around…

You said what?
So, so sleepy. And ears still haven’t popped yet. What? I can’t hear you… Tomorrow I’m switching to Pacific time. Maybe I’ll have my hearing back. What?

Wheels… almost… touching…
Touchdown in California! Waiting to disembark the plane & meet up with King & Gwen.

SF 2008: The 767
Here I am, sitting on a 767-300. Now *this* is a good-sized plane. The jet from Chattanooga was a small CRJ200: about a sixteenth of the space in here, if not less. The weather in Atlanta today appears to be beautiful. Still another 20 minutes of loading up this plane. I scored a window seat…

Atlanta Airport: Playground/Amusement Park
Made it to Atlanta. Roaming around the airport — it’s like an amusement park, especially if you have time (as I have) and if you’re not stressed (which is a state I’m blissfully sliding into: the stress of the last few weeks starting to melt away). As I sit here in the food court munching…

Slight delay
Well, perfection is over-rated. The ASA flight to ATL is slightly delayed, but no worries here — I have a 3 hour layover in the city of my birth.

To San Francisco (2008)
I’m heading out to San Francisco to wander around that beautiful city, sleep, hang out with King and Gwen, sleep some more, take pictures, read up on Tennessee History, go to Macworld Expo, and so on Currently sitting in the Chattanooga airport. On schedule perfectly so far. Next stop Atlanta and then winging to the…
