  • I now have a niece!

Hello, Abigail! News flash from Kansas City: Ann Ribbing and Scott Luckey are pleased to announce the birth of their daughter Abigail Sue Ribbing. Abbie was born at 10 am on November 16, 2004. She weighed in at 8 pounds, 11 ounces and was 19 inches long. Here are some pictures!

  • Movies & Pix: Australia, Dan, Weekend

I’ve loaded some movies – you’ll need to have QuickTime installed on your computer to view them. First off, some movies from Australia, recently re-discovered (I had feared they had been lost): What the “Crosswalk” Sounds Like on a Downtown Sydney Street Circular Quay (Sydney) Street Performer Plays Guitar The Brisbane Town Hall, With Actual…

  • Riverbend 2004

I survived the first night of Riverbend 2004. It was quite hot. I pored over the wide range of material available at the UTC booth, watched some music (including Todd Snider and a bluegrass group), and had a tasty corn dog. And yes, it was hot. (Pictures)

  • Dan’s death match

I found my buddy Dan engaged in training for the Riverbend Challenge (what I refer to as “Dan’s Death Match”) at the Climbing Wall at Coolidge Park. I’m accustomed to being taller than Dan, so I gave the Wall a shot, myself (Pictures). Thanks to whats-her-name for belaying me, thus preventing a deadly plummet.

  • Jim & Carl & Nightfall

On Wednesday my buddy Jim Guthrie passed through town; we went to watch “A Carl Miller Performance” over at St. Andrews Methodist Church (literally in the shadow of Highland Park Baptist Church). And last night I went to the second night of NightFall, featuring Ellis Hook and the always-entertaining cavalcade of friends and acquaintances that…

  • Pictures and Sagas

Just posted some assorted pictures, including The Saga Of My Improved Mailbox; Lydia’s Wedding; Dinner at Madeline & Brian’s; and Hiking to Snooper’s Rock on Sunday at Prentice Cooper State Park.

  • Wally and Shannon, now married!

My friends Wally Edmondson and Shannon Moore are now husband and wife. I have pictures to prove it! Hurrah for the happy couple!

  • Pix and Brisbane

I’ve uploaded a sampling of pictures of our trip so far – just a fraction of what I’ve taken to date. Beautiful weather here in Brisbane. Tomorrow (Thursday) is our last full day in Australia before we head home on Friday.

  • Touring Queensland

We’re here in Brisbane. What a nice city! Spent the day touring Queensland today, including seeing Steve Irwin manhandle crocs in person. Here’s a link to some pics King has posted so far. More info later (we’re standing on a street corner in downtown Brisbane right now with our PowerBooks leeching off someone’s wireless Internet…

  • Sydney, in the Rocks

Well, we’re sitting in a pub in the Rocks section of Sydney, waiting for a tasty meal. Fortunately this pub has free wireless internet access, allowing us to connect with our PowerBooks and upload/download mail. Here’s a picture to tide y’all over until I can properly update this site with my trip.

  • SF 2004, Day 3

Third Day In San Francisco Today I rested, and then wandered around Golden Gate Park and Haight Street. Another beautiful day in SanFran! Oh, and here are a couple little videos I shot: By The Lighthouse and  Cello Music on Haight Street.

  • SF 2004, Day 2

Second Day In San Francisco On Sunday, King, Gwen and I travelled to Point Reyes to see the Lighthouse. Pictures are available. (Note that I’m just adding on new pictures after the older ones, instead of creating a new section for each day.)

  • My New Year’s Eve Party

Thanks to all for coming. Hope y’all had fun! There are pictures available.

  • The Office Party

Last night some friends gathered at my house to watch the entire first season of the hit British comedy “The Office.” It was a lot of fun – in addition to chatting with each other and watching 6 episodes back-to-back and eating fish and chips, I even had a drawing for a couple office prizes:…

  • Arranging pictures on the internet wall

I’ve added some more pictures in the, well, y’know, the pictures area. I’ve been dabbling with Webpics and iView Multimedia, pondering organization versus workflow versus artistic integrity versus Aquaman. Hmm.

  • The Reckless Life

Here’s a treat: a modern picture of me with hair… though not actual hair. Earlier this year (March & April) I had a role (in fact, three roles) in a play called “Reckless” (by Craig Lucas), in the Circle Theatre at the Chattanooga Theatre Centre. One of my characters was an insincere, smarmy game show host…

  • Riverbend 2000 + Carmina

Riverbend has begun. I’m looking forward to seeing Susan Werner perform on Wednesday (and perhaps get an interview with her for my ever-continuing music documentary). Here I am with Susan back in 1995. I’ve started working again on my Community Communication Project. Perhaps I can go ahead and change human society in my free time. And here is the…

  • SF 2000, Day 4

Today’s travels took me across the famed Golden Gate Bridge (The Big Red One) to Marin County (turns out it’s pronounced mare-IN). But first, we ate lunch at Joe’s Grill on Clement Street (though some people call it Bill’s Place) where I had a perfect bacon-BBQ-cheeseburger. King, his wife Gwen and I went to Muir Woods, part of the California…

  • The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940

This past summer I got to drop my pants in public…and people paid to see it! The name of the Chattanooga Theatre Centre play was “The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940,” directed by Suzanne Smartt. In case it’s not obvious from the picture, I’m portraying a German Gestapo agent pretending to be an Irish tenor…

  • Me at Switcher

King took this action-pose photo of me directing in the production booth at WTCI-TV 45. I’m using a Grass Valley 200 switcher, next to the GVG-251 editor controller, GVG DVE (1-channel), and GVG AMX audio mixer (the Duber 20-K keyboard is almost visible, too).
