The terrain is so unlike hills in my native land of Tennessee
We enter a forest.
And emerge amidst hills again.
We've arrived at our first stop - Bear Valley. Note that these are actually horses, for, as King tells me, there are no more bears in California.

Over to the left, near the red house along the line of blue poles, is reputed to be the epicenter of the great 1906 earthquake. Yes, we are standing on the San Andreas Fault.
Before the earthquake, these two fences matched up together.
After the 1906 quake, the fences moved ... this ... much!

We drive to Drake's Beach to find the Lighthouse Shuttle.
