San Francisco Trip 2005
First part of journey: Express Shuttle from Chattanooga to Nashville at 5:30 am Thursday
This is Nashville's airport, and the plane I flew on to Chicago from 9:05 am - 10:37 am
Yes, a small plane...
We soar above the clouds, somewhere around 28,000 feet
We dip beneath the clouds to see the outskirts of Chicago
For some reason this reminded me of a white circuit board
While we land on one of the few cleared runways, the airport crew tries removing snow at O'Hare Airport
From O'Hare I catch the Blue Line commuter train...
Chicago is a wintry wonderland
The houses are reminiscient of Illinois houses
More shots out the El window
I emerge from the subway to find downtown Chicago
Tall Chicago building, with Union Station at lower left
It's cold - probably around 25 degrees, with lots of slushy snow
Snowy bushes & fence
I enter Union Station...
Oh, it's big. Impressive building.
Walking down the stairs did remind me of that scene from "The Untouchables"
I find the Amtrak area!
After checking in at the ticket counter, I gain admittance to the Metropolitan Lounge
