Coolidge Park (6/6/04) & Riverbend (6/11/04)
On Sunday I went over to Coolidge Park, a popular destination in North Chattanooga
The Carousel, a popular form of mass transit
I find Dan Landrum at the Climbing Wall (flanked by Sue and Angie)
Angie's pic of the Wall, with Dan climbing spider-like from hold to hold.
I figure it's more fun to climb than just watching, so I start clambering up the Wall
Climbers are on belay (in my case anchored by a tiny girl down on the ground), which lends a certain fearlessness.
Climber's-Eye-View of the Wall.
Dan's shot of my progress. My arms & legs gave out before I reached the top, but it was fun!
First night of Riverbend 2004, before the crowds but not before the Heat.
Hunter Museum and its landscape under renovation, part of New Waterfront for Chattanooga
Madeline playing peek-a-boo behind Brian
The WTCI Compound, which certainly brings back memories. The platform is incredibly sturdy, especially compared to previous versions.
I discover the UTC / Chattanooga State booth, ably manned by Priscilla and Dan Chase. Looks like some espionage is going on in this shot.
Standing at the Crossroads...looking back down Riverfront Parkway
Looking up Chestnut...Mmm, the Pronto Dog shack I'll be getting a corn dog from...
Looking down Riverfront Parkway toward Olgiati Bridge. It's Very Hot.
More food vendors, where you can watch them cook food as you cook in the sun.
Ok, I missed the sun part of the sunset.
It's obviously even too hot for the sun to hang around.
Wally and Shannon happen by the UTC booth. Wish they'd cheer up.
